The Dolphin Bar & Shrimp House’s first ever golf tournament helps those struggling with hunger

The Dolphin Bar & Shrimp House is hosting its first ever Golf Tournament Fundraiser on Oct. 26, 2019, combining a great day on the links with an evening reception on the waterfront. All proceeds benefit Treasure Coast Food Bank to help those struggling with hunger in the community.

The tournament takes place at The Shores of North River Club in Stuart, an Old Florida-style executive course on the St. Lucie River. The awards ceremony and reception will be held on the waterfront at The Dolphin Bar & Shrimp House. Enjoy a full day of camaraderie and competition followed by a buffet dinner, raffles and awards.

“As the golf tournament idea developed, we needed to choose a benefactor. The Treasure Coast Food Bank was the perfect choice. They share our passion for feeding people, and with the up and coming holidays, we know their needs will increase,” said Brian Kelly, Dolphin Bar & Shrimp House manager.

The community is joining in support of the fundraiser with several sponsors and foursomes already participating: Ken Duke & Friends Celebrity Pro-Am, TRM Construction Management Design/Build, St. Lucie Mets, Jack Hodge and DaneCo. Insurance.

The tournament is a best ball scramble with golfers teeing off from the back tees. Trophies will be awarded to all members of the winning team as well as the player with the longest drive and the winner of the closest to the pin challenge. Sign-up is 10 a.m. with a shotgun start at 11 a.m.

A reception and awards ceremony hosted at The Dolphin Bar & Shrimp House will follow at 5 p.m. Enjoy the panoramic waterfront views and a delicious buffet dinner along with a complementary drink and raffle ticket.

Foursomes are $280 ($70 per person). Not a golfer? Come just for the reception, awards and raffles for $50. Raffle prizes include Club Med passes, Park Hopper passes to Walt Disney World, restaurant gift cards and spirits baskets, and a private tour of Save the Chimps Sanctuary.
