Hammock Greens vertical hydroponic farms grows premium greens and herbs for chefs, restaurants, and wholesalers. This “hyperlocal” network of farms is built entirely out of upcycled shipping containers. The farm has a strong focus on sustainable practices, renewable resources, low carbon footprint, and “cide free” produce. Never are any pesticides or herbicides used. Hammock Greens boasts an exotic variety of leafy greens and “petit” herbs. Owned and operated by farmer Thomas Smitherman and restaurateur chef Aaron Dreilinger, the farm was founded in 2017 with a driving purpose of bringing nutrition and fresh produce at the most local level possible in urban areas. Since then the network has grown to 6 farms in South Florida.
